Chelsea 5–0 Swansea City

Chelsea extended their dominance at the summit of the Premier League table with a commanding 5–0 home win over Swansea City. A pair of first-half strikes from Joseph Haigh and Logan Granger set the tone, before an unstoppable second half saw the Blues tear through Swansea’s fragile back line.

Relentless Rhythm

Haigh opened the scoring in the 24th minute, slotting home from a Kieran O’Sullivan low cross. Four minutes later, Granger made it two, springing the offside trap and finishing neatly past the keeper. The third came just after the restart, with Pelé rifling a shot into the top corner following a sweeping move down the left.

Haigh doubled his tally in the 69th minute, stabbing home from close range after a scramble in the box. Substitute Scott Crichton completed the rout with a composed finish in the 82nd minute, capping a dominant performance.

Star Men

Joseph Haigh was the standout performer, notching two goals and a 9.2 match rating. The winger completed five dribbles, created four chances, and won seven of his nine duels. Pelé controlled the tempo from midfield, completing 92% of his passes and breaking up play with relentless energy.

By the Numbers

  • Shots: Chelsea 23 – 4 Swansea
  • Expected Goals: 3.12 – 0.34
  • Possession: Chelsea 66%
  • Passes Completed: 576 – 237

What It Means

With this result, Chelsea continue their stranglehold at the top of the league, now boasting 88 points from 32 games and a staggering +88 goal difference. With a double-digit lead over their nearest challengers and their Champions League quarterfinal berth secured, Calin Dimario’s side look increasingly unstoppable.

Swansea, meanwhile, remain mid-table but were given a harsh reminder of the gulf in quality between the elite and the rest.
