Drogba Arena – Premier Division
Chelsea 2–0 Tottenham
O’Sullivan (pen 67′), Júnior (88′)
Chelsea extended their stunning league form to fourteen consecutive wins with a confident 2–0 victory over Tottenham at the Drogba Arena, asserting their control on the Premier Division title race.
Calin Dimario’s men dominated proceedings with a suffocating possession game (57% possession, 25 shots), while Spurs were pinned back and managed only five efforts of their own, with a paltry xG of 0.45 compared to Chelsea’s 2.98.
The breakthrough came in the 67th minute when Kieran O’Sullivan confidently dispatched a penalty, awarded after a VAR check confirmed a foul inside the area. Substitute Júnior made sure of the points late on, latching onto a loose ball and driving a low finish off the post to seal a deserved win.
Joseph Haigh was named Player of the Match for a lively display in midfield (7.7 rating, 2 key passes, 2 progressive passes), knitting Chelsea’s attacking play with clarity and purpose.
Fernando González, Johnny Jenkins, and Giuseppe Capone were also booked in a physical battle where Chelsea never looked in doubt. Spurs, meanwhile, failed to register a single big chance and struggled to cope with Chelsea’s positional rotations.
With this win, Chelsea remain top of the table with 51 points from 19 matches. Tottenham’s inconsistent form continues to plague their campaign.
