UEFA Super Cup — Lerkendal Stadion, Attendance: 21,271

Chelsea began their European campaign in style, lifting the UEFA Super Cup after a commanding 4–1 victory over Fulham in Trondheim. The night belonged to Netanel Sahar, who struck a superb hat-trick to fire the Blues to their second trophy of the season — adding to their Community Shield triumph just weeks earlier.

Sahar Leads the Line

It took less than half an hour for Chelsea’s No. 9 to announce himself. A misjudged pass from Fulham defender Carino Taraio handed Sahar the opening, and the Israeli forward made no mistake — his precise strike kissed the post before rolling over the line.

Chelsea’s dominance only grew as the match unfolded. Fulham’s defence, stretched and scrambling, had no answer for Sahar’s movement or finishing touch. He doubled his tally on 54 minutes with a rasping volley from close range, this time crashing in off the side of the post.

The VAR briefly intervened to check for offside, but the goal stood, and Sahar’s grin said it all — this was his stage.

Hat-Trick Heroics

Barely six minutes later, Sahar completed his hat-trick. Collecting a deflected cross inside the box, he fired home via a slight ricochet, sealing the match and sending the travelling Chelsea supporters into delirium.

Fulham did pull one back through Maguila, capitalising on a loose ball after a rare lapse from McKauley Civzelis, but any hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished when Júnior made it 4–1 — coolly slotting in after Louis Kerremans’ mistake.

Dimario’s Double

For manager Calin Dimario, the victory marks the club’s second consecutive UEFA Super Cup win and extends Chelsea’s remarkable run of early-season dominance.

Sahar, unsurprisingly named Player of the Match with a 9.5 rating, reflected the team’s sharpness and swagger. Last season’s tally of 20 goals and 15 assists already looks under threat from a player now operating at his ruthless best.

“We play to win trophies,” Dimario said afterward. “And Sahar — he plays to define them.”

Chelsea, now double winners already this season, have set the tone once again: champions who expect to remain champions.
