Premier Division — Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium

Chelsea produced a commanding performance to ease past Everton 4–0 on a rainy afternoon at Bramley-Moore Dock, extending their unbeaten Premier League run to twelve matches. Midfield maestro Mario Cardozo was the standout, scoring twice and running the show in a display of total control from Calin Dimario’s side.

Cardozo Masterclass

It took just 24 minutes for Chelsea to find the breakthrough, as Cardozo’s close-range volley took a slight deflection before nestling into the net. The Argentine midfielder doubled Chelsea’s advantage late on with a skidding drive to seal his brace — capping off a performance that earned him a 9.7 match rating and the Player of the Match award.

Nacho Valera added a thumping header early in the second half, while veteran defender McKauley Civzelis got in on the act, powering home from inside the six-yard box after an Everton defensive lapse. It was another example of Chelsea’s clinical edge under Dimario’s guidance, with the visitors registering an expected goals tally of 4.63 to Everton’s meagre 0.18.

D’Urso Makes Debut

New £86 million signing Luca D’Urso made his Chelsea debut, slotting in at left-back and impressing with his energy and composure in possession. The Italian international’s attacking intent added an extra layer to Chelsea’s dominance on the flanks, drawing cheers from the travelling supporters.

Unbeaten Streak Continues

The result leaves Chelsea in second place in the Premier Division, just behind early leaders, and continues a twelve-match unbeaten run stretching back to last season. The Blues look every bit like title contenders once again, blending experience with new-found dynamism in their reshaped lineup.

After the match, Dimario praised Cardozo’s influence, calling him “the heartbeat of our creativity.” With the midfield trio of Cardozo, Landeira, and Pauls all shining, Chelsea’s engine room looks more fluid and dangerous than ever.

“We’re building momentum,” said Dimario. “The players are enjoying their football, and when that happens, performances like this follow.”

Next up for Chelsea: a home clash at Stamford Bridge as they aim to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.
