Chelsea continued their blistering start to the season with a dominant 5–1 win over Ajax in the UEFA Champions League League Phase at Drogba Arena. The night belonged to Brazilian winger Júnior, who scored four sublime goals to sink the Dutch side.

Júnior opened the scoring with a driven strike off the post in the 11th minute and added a solo effort just four minutes later. Nacho Valera extended the lead with a low skidding shot, but Ajax briefly threatened when Domenic Fischer capitalised on a defensive lapse to pull one back. Júnior completed his hat-trick with a rifled drive late on before adding a fourth in stoppage time to round off a breathtaking display.

Chelsea produced a complete performance, registering 39 shots to Ajax’s five and boasting 61% possession. The result puts Chelsea top of the Champions League standings, level on points with Bayern Munich but ahead on goal difference.

Player of the Match: **Júnior (Chelsea)** – 4 goals, 10.0 rating, 12.7km covered.
