Clinical display at Anfield

Kieran O’Sullivan broke the deadlock in the 34th minute with a thunderous strike that cannoned in off the post after fine buildup play through midfield. Just after halftime, Jairzinho doubled Chelsea’s advantage with a close-range header from a pinpoint cross.

The Blues controlled proceedings with 66% possession and a slightly higher xG of 1.54 compared to Liverpool’s 1.12. VAR was briefly used in the first half to review O’Sullivan’s opener but the decision stood.
