Chelsea edged out Southampton 4–3 in a dramatic encounter at St Mary’s, extending their league-winning streak to seven and climbing to the summit of the Premier Division.

Former Saints striker Netanel Sahar stole the headlines with two goals, showing both composure and class against his old club. Luke Magee opened the scoring for Southampton before an own goal from Emerson Salazar levelled the contest. Sahar’s brace then put Chelsea in command, though Marcos Delfino twice struck back for the hosts. A late penalty from Scott Crichton sealed the victory, confirmed by VAR after a tense wait.

Despite being outshot 10–15 and facing an xG battle of 2.07 to 2.73, Southampton’s resilience kept Chelsea on edge throughout. Marcos Delfino was named Player of the Match for his two-goal display, but Sahar’s clinical finishing ensured the Blues left with all three points.

Chelsea now top the table with seven consecutive wins, their attacking firepower and resilience making them clear title favourites.
